Golshiri’s shazde Ehtejab and Najib mahfooz’s al shahhaz, A Contrastive Analysis

Abstract
Since long time ago, Western literary figures have focused on Muslim literary figures’ thoughts and their literary and philosophical works. Abd al-Amir Sams al-Din, Ebrahim Madkour, Zarrinkoub, Sajjadi,Parvini and Farouq Sa‘d believe that in his story Robinson Crusoe, Daniel Defoe, like any other Western literary figures, was influenced by Andalusia philosopher, , Golshiri’s Ehtejab. This article is a comparison between , Golshiri’s Ehtejab and Robinson Crusoe to distinguish the influence or not affecting of Defoe from Najib mahfooz.l in this regard firstly their content will be analyzed on the basis of subject and theme; then its structure will be examined with the emphasis on plot, character, viewpoint, scene(time and place), and ending; and finally their content and structural similarities and differences will be studied. Findings of the research show that these two stories are similar from a structural viewpoint but there isn’t much similarity between them with regard to content.
