Comparative study of the literary style of the speeches and letters of Nahj Al-balagha based on Buzyman Equation

Abstract

Statistical methodology is the most romantic and most accurate critical schools that empirical evidence replaces intuitive judgment. Buzyman equation is one method of statistical methodology which Buzyman, German scientist, first suggested in stylistics. According to Buzyman quantity of text literary or text separation from other types of text, by comparing the use of verbs can be explained in relation to the number of characters; the number of verbs be more, the text between literary style and approach is more passive. The ratio is obtained by dividing the number of the verbs to the adjectives.
The present study by relying on statistical methodology of Buzyman aim to compare the speeches and letters of Nahj al-Balagha. Based on the data obtained from this equation, the sermons of Nahj al-Balagha, compared with letters are more passive approach and therefore are more literary.
