Abstract
Hedges allowing writers to express their uncertainty concerning the factuality of their statements, are very important in academic writing. While hedging in academic writing is very important it isn’t expected any hedge in holy texts that are from God like Quran. Is it possible to believe to a religion that have uncertainty or hedges in its reference? This paper tries to distinguish hedges in Quran, the reference for Islam as a great religion. On this aim six hundred Ayeh are selected to study. The results indicates while there are some hedges in Quran, but they aren’t relevant to God itself and the main ideas of Islam never be hedged. The frame of this research is Hyland(2005) who have expanded researches on this theme.
