Religious commitment in contemporary Arabic poetry
Case study poetry of Maarouf Rusafi
Abstract
Commitment as a universal concept includes a wide range of songs. Through which the poet participates in political, social and moral man issues. Contemporary literature were in the service of fighting aliens and freedom from the bondage of colonialism, and suffering and problems of the people. Therefore, addressing social, human, moral and religious problems has introduced the criterion of commitment into literature. In contemporary literature, major aspects of this commitment was religious commitment according to which, poets committed to resorting to religious commitment were following the release of Muslim communities from pain and suffering imposition colonial. Rusafi as one of the giants of contemporary poetry and as pioneer of committed literature, by utilizing the teachings of Islam, dedicated his poetry to the emancipation of the suffering caused by colonialism, poverty and ignorance of the people, and to defend Islam and its prophet.
