The Comparative Analysis of the Function of Religious Teachings in SepidehKashani and Nazik Al-Malaika Poems
Abstract
With the increasing expansion of science and technology the modern man sees himself more than any other time in need of returning to spirituality. In other words the impressive growth of industry and technology with all its benefits could not be a suitable replacement for filling the gaps resulting from lack of spirituality in human’s life. The result of it is the return of human societies to religion and moral values. Meanwhile the role of literature as an important part of every society’s culture in the expansion and promotion of religious and moral teachings is undeniable. So that with reviewing the literature of each period the process of intellectual and cultural evolution of that society could also be evaluated. Based on what was mentioned, the present study with descriptive-analytic approach has analyzed and evaluated the poems of two lady poets and revolutionaries from Iran and Iraq that are SepidehKashani (1315- 1371 HS) and Nazik Al-Malaika (1923- 2007 AD). It had come to the conclusion that both poets as Muslim women have widely used religious teachings in their poems.
